Women's Golf in third at Titan Classic

OSHKOSH, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's golf team opened the 2016-17 season on Saturday, competing in the first round of the UW-Oshkosh Titan Classic at the Oshkosh Country Club.

Day 1 Results

The Blugolds are currently in third place with a team score of 333 (+41) while UW-Oshkosh leads the field with a score of 321.

"I was happy to see the girls really in the zone today," said Head Coach Courtney Everett. "It's hard with the first tournament sometimes to get back into the swing of things. But these women were hunting for birdies. We're just looking at where our mistakes are to try to move up in the team score tomorrow."

Molly Lattery (Jr.-Poplar, WI/Northwestern) and Allison Chomniak (So.-Pewaukee, WI/Arrowhead) led the Blugolds on the day, both tied for fifth over after turning in score of 82 (+9).

"We played fearlessly," said Meghan Lange. "Even though we left strokes out there, we still have a great showing for our first tournament and are looking forward to taking strokes off tomorrow."

The Blugolds will compete in the second and final round on Sunday.
