Blugold Women finish 9th at Division III Classic

LAKE CITY, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's golf team finished in ninth place at the Division III Classic at The Jewel Golf Club on Sunday.

Results

Eau Claire turned in a team score of 337 on Sunday to finish with an overall score of 675 (+99). The University of St. Thomas won the invitational with a team score of 608 (+32).

Allison Chomniak (So.-Pewaukee, WI/Arrowhead) once again led Eau Claire. The sophomore finished the second round with an 80 to bring her final score to a 162 (+18) to finish in 22nd.

Molly Lattery (Jr.-Poplar, WI/Northwestern) followed with an overall score of 167 (+23) to tie for 29th while Katie Moore (Sr.-Woodbury, MN) tied for 32nd with a 169 (+25).

"This weekend really was a preview of what we can expect at conference and the competition we're up against," said Head Coach Courtney Everett. "It's great to see Allison Chomniak playing well, but I know she, along with my other players, can play better. They have it in them and that's what we need to focus on this weekend ahead with the UW-Whitewater Invitational."

The UW-Whitewater Invitational will begin on Friday at the Delbrook Golf Course in Delvan, Wis.
