Blugolds receive All-WIAC recognition

MADISON, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announced its softball postseason honors on Tuesday. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire had three players named to the All-WIAC team and another earned a spot on the All-Sportsmanship team.

Chloe Garofalo (So. - Kenosha, Wis./Bradford), Megan Maruna (Sr. - Oswego, Ill.), and Madi Zerr (Sr. - Bristol, Wis./Wilmot Union) were all 1st Team All-WIAC recipients. Chloe Garofalo finshed the seaosn ranked 4th in the WIAC with a .437 batting average. She also led the conference in stolen bases (20) and was 4th for total hits (55).

Megan Maruna also finihsed the year towards the top of the conference in offensive production with the 2nd most most home runs (9), tied for the most triples (2), recorded the 4th most RBIs (31) and hed the 5th highest OPS (1.118). Madi Zerr was dominate during WIAC play as ranked in the top-10 for lowest ERA (2.32), had the second most innings pitched (57.1), and recorded the third most strikeouts (37).

Shaelyn Talley (Sr. - Wausau, Wis./West) was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.
