MADISON, Wis. (blugolds.com) — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire softball player Megan Maruna (Sr. - Oswego, Ill.) was named the WIAC Kwik Trip Athlete of the Week among position players for the week of April 24-30.
Maruna posted a .500 batting average and 1.250 slugging percentage across four games during the week. She hit three home runs and drove in seven runs, producing a home run in three of the Blugolds' four contests. Maruna had a pair of two-hit games against UW-Platteville on April 29, driving in four runs in the first game of the doubleheader and tallying two more RBI in the second game. She had at least one hit in all four of the team's games. She also scored six runs for the Blugolds. Defensively, Maruna recorded nine put outs and 11 assists without making an error.
