Game 1 Box Score | Game 2 Box Score

Megan Maruna (Sr. – Oswego, Ill.) found the first tally of the day for UW-Eau Claire with her seventh home run of the season in the second inning. UWEC kept Stevens Point scoreless for the first six innings as Chloe Garofalo (So. – Kenosha, Wis./Bradford) extended the Blugold lead to 3-0 in the fifth inning with a double to right field that scored two baserunners.

With three outs remaining, UW-Stevens Point tied the game in the bottom of the seventh inning on sacrifice fly and a two run double to send the contest to extra innings.

Kaitlyn Madole (Jr. – Owatonna, Minn.) claimed hero status in game one with a double to right field with the bases loaded to regain the lead. With a 5-3 advantage for the Blugolds, UWSP found a one rune answer in the bottom of the ninth as UWEC held on for their second WIAC victory of the year.

Game two found Eau Claire behind the eight ball early as Stevens Point came out firing with 5 runs in the first two innings. After an added sixth run by UWSP in the fifth, Salena Jeanson (Jr. – St. Paul, Minn./North St. Paul) found Eau Claire's first tally in the top of the seventh with a two run homerun to cut the deficit to 6-2. Jeanson's first career hoe run would be the only answer for UWEC as they fell 6-2 to split the day.

The Blugolds (13-15, 2-6 WIAC) will return home for more WIAC play on Saturday, April 29th as they host UW-Platteville at Bollinger Fields and celebrate Alumni Day. The first pitch for game one is scheduled for 2PM.
