Everett Named Head Golf Coach

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire athletics director Dan Schumacher has announced the hiring of Courtney Everett as the men's and women's golf coach.

"We are excited to add Coach Everett to our staff," said Schumacher. "Her enthusiasm and knowledge will be an excellent addition to Blugold Athletics."

The Palos Park, Ill. native was a four-year letter winner for NCAA Division II Lewis University where she was named Academic All-Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and was a Delahanty Award recipient all four years. The Delahanty Award recognizes Lewis student-athletes who maintained a cumulative grade-point-average for 3.25 or higher.

"UW-Eau Claire golf has such a rich history and I feel honored to have the opportunity to make an impact on these hardworking men and women," said Everett. "I appreciate Chancellor [James] Schmidt and our Athletic Director, Dan Schumacher, for having faith in my ability to lead the Blugolds."

On the golf course, Everett carded a personal best of 79 and compiled 59 rounds for the Flyers. She recorded a season-best average of 89.9 during the 2009-10 season. Her senior season, the Flyers also claimed GLVC All Sports trophy which is presented to the GLVC institution that demonstrates the best all-around performance in the league's 17 sponsored sports. Points are allocated based on overall finish in the league standings and finish in the respective sport's conference tournament. This fall she was also the head golf coach at Regis High School.

"Golf is a forever sport that I am passionate to play as well as teach," said Everett. "I look forward to passing my knowledge of the game to such a prestigious program."
