Men's Golf Announces Team Award Winners

EAU CLAIRE, WI (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team has announced their team awards for the 2014-15 season.

Brady Hanson (So.-Woodbury, MN/East Ridge) was named team Most Valuable Player after the sophomore led the Blugolds with a 76.1 average, finishing in the top 20 in four tournaments and the top 10 twice. Hanson earned honorable mention Division III PING All-America honors by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

"Brady Hanson had an outstanding season and was a key contributor to the team's success," said Head Coach Mike Greer. "We are proud of Brady's accomplishments this season, earning All-Region and All-American Honorable Mention honors."

The Blugold Award went to Jake Erickson (Sr.-Chaska, MN/Academy of Holy Angels). Erickson led the Blugolds in the Stone Ridge Classic to wrap up the season by earning medalist honors, shooting a six-under 66; two strokes ahead of his next closest competitor.

In addition, Joey Dreier (So.-New London, MN) was named team captain for the 2015-16 season.

The Blugolds will kick off the 2015-16 season on September 5 at the Augsburg Invitational and will host the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invite on September 13-14.
