Women's Tennis Dominates Simpson

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team with another dominating win over Simpson, moving them to 12-5 on the season. 

Results:

The number one doubles the team of Colleen McCullough (Sr.-Maple Grove,Minn./Osseo) and Sarah Henderson (So.-Prior Lake, Minn.) got the Blugolds rolling with an 8-1 win over number one doubles for Simpson. Paige Kuepers (Sr.-Green Bay,Wis./Southwest) and Olivia Gallagher (Jr.-Lodi,Wis.) followed with a dominating 8-0 win at two doubles and Brooke Volpone (So. Monticello, Minn.)  and Molly Sanvik (Fr.-Winona, Minn.) recorded a 8-2 victory.

In singles play, Henderson won over Kelli Ehrhardt  in number one singles, winning 6-0, 6-0. At number two singles Gallagher defeated Michelle Hartman 6-0, 6-0.

McCullough won 6-0, 6-3 at number three singles while Kuepers and Volpne both won 6-1, 6-1 at number four and five singles respectively. Kendra Berry (Fr. Duluth, Minn./ East) finished the sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Katie Platts at number six singles.

The Blugolds now 12-5 on the season, compete tomorrow as they host St. Scholastica and UW-River Falls.
