OSHKOSH, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's swim team dominated the pool at Albee Hall in Oshkosh, winning 13 events to best UW-Oshkosh.
Hannah Sisto, Elissa Hermsen, and Allison Hable took 1-2-3 in the 200-yard freestyle, the first event won by the Blugolds, with times of 2:03.91, 2:08.16, and 2:08.96.
Samantha Senczyszyn continues to dominate the 50-yard freestyle, winning with a time of 24.80, followed closely by her teammates Brittany Farr and Molly Quinlan, with times of 26.60 and 27.15, respectively.
The success continued in the 200-yard IM, with the Blugolds taking the top four spots, topped by Madeline Gray, with a time of 2:20.81.
The 200 yard butterfly was fielded by only two swimmers, both from UWEC. Molly Quinlan finished first with a time of 2:29.89, and Nicole Bellford followed with a time of 2:03.69.
Allison Hable topped the 100-yard freestyle, followed by Rachel Chatwin and Ellie Hostetler, who tied for second with a time of 58.40.
The 200-yard backstroke was taken by Rachel Treadway, finishing with a time of 2:18.83.
Nina Tabatabai won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:45.76, followed by Nicole Bellford at 5:49.60, beating the next swimmer by 10 seconds.
Kate French edged out her opponents in the 3 meter dive, ending up with a score of 260.63.
The last event of the day for the women's swim and dive team was the 800-yard freestyle relay, and the Blugolds took this one as well. The team of Brittany Farr, Reilly Peterson, Hannah Sisto, and Samantha Senczyszyn destroyed the competition, finishing with a time of 8:23.44.
"We were able to mix things up a bit and see some people swim some different events." said head coach Anne Ryder. "The team raced hard and I was pleased with their performances."
The Blugolds swim again in two weeks, at the Rochester Invite on December 4th and 5th.
