EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Elissa Hermsen (Fr.-Waunakee, Wis.) led the UW-Eau Claire women's swimming & diving team with two event victories as the Blugolds faced UW-Whitewater on Senior Day in the McPhee Physical Education Center today.
Hermsen finished in first place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:15.93 and won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.62.
The Blugolds also had three other victories on the day.
Allison Hable (So.-Ankeny, Iowa) won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.23 seconds.
Tying for first in the 200-yard freestyle was Sidney Fairbrother (So.-Maple Plain, Minn./Orono) with a time of 2:00.69.
Diving, Amanda Baker (So.-Hudson, Wis.) won the three-meter event with a score of 266.95.
As a team, the Blugolds came up short to the Warhawks 161.5-138.5.
Next up for Eau Claire is the WIAC Championship, which will be contested in Brown Deer, Wis., Feb. 20-22. UW-Eau Claire will serve as host of the meet.
