EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – For the second year in a row, UW-Eau Claire women's hockey player Nikki Kothenbeutel (Sr.-Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice) earned two team awards as the team was honored for the Blugolds' 2013-14 season today.
Kothenbeutel, who earned the team's student-athlete and Blugold awards, tied for a team-high with 11 points. She scored five goals, second most on the team, and recorded six assists, tying for most on the team. Kothenbeutel scored one power-play goal this season. She has served as team captain for the past two seasons.
At the end of the year, she was named the WIAC's Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete and was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team, which was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season.
