Gymnasts Fall Just Short at UW-Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's gymnastics team narrowly fell at UW-Oshkosh today, losing to the titans 181.575-181.550.

The Blugolds came away with wins in three out of five events.

On the vault, Danielle Schulzetenberg (So.-Maple Grove, Minn.) won with a score of 9.400 while Sarah Hulbert (Sr.-Waukesha, Wis./North) was second with a 9.250.

Claire Johnson (So.-Eagan, Minn.) scored a career-best 9.425 on the uneven bars to take first place and Olivia Aschenbrenner (Fr.-Cedarburg, Wis./Grafton) took second with a score of 9.250.

Aschenbrenner also did well on the balance beam with a 9.425 to win the event.

In the floor exercise, Schulzetenberg had the Blugolds' best finish, taking second with a 9.475 while she took second in the all-around with a mark of 36.525.

The Blugolds will host Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) next Friday. Action will get underway at 6:30 p.m.
