(Blugolds.com) – While the first four innings of today’s NCAA Division III Softball Regional saw just four hits and two runs, UW-Eau Claire and North Central College (Ill.) combined to score 19 more runs and 16 more hits but the Cardinals came out on top, beating the Blugolds 12-10 at van Steenderen Field.

The six-team event will be held at the Omni Center in Onalaska, Wis., on Sunday (May 5).

In the first game, the Blugolds defeated the Pointers 8-3 and in game two, they defeated the Yellowjackets 8-0, pushing their conference winning streak to 15-straight games.

The Blugolds defeated Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) 7-4 in the first game but fell to Simpson College (Iowa), the 14th-ranked team in the nation, 4-1 in the second game.
