DECORAH, Iowa (Blugolds.com) The UW Eau Claire Cross Country team competed at the JV Cup on Friday afternoon hosted by Luther College on campus in Decorah, Iowa.  It was a perfect day for racing with temps in the mid 40’s, plenty of sunshine and a light breeze out of the west.  The Blugold men had a great day finishing 1^st of 5 teams with 40 points. 

Riley Huffmann (so.-Oshkosh North) continued to race strong taking the individual 8K title in 26:12 eleven seconds in front of teammate Wyatt Elmer (so.-Mankato, MN / Loyola HS) who placed 2^nd of 91 runners in 26:23.  Rounding out the top 5 scorers for the Blugolds were Sam Kuhlmann (fr.-Shorewood) who placed 5^th in 26:30, Ben Carmichael (fr.-Wisconsin Lutheran) who placed 13^th in 26:46 and Anthony Dupont (fr.-St. Paul, MN / Henry Sibley HS) who placed 19^th in 27:01.

The Blugolds will be competing at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Championships hosted by Augustana College at Saukie Golf Course in Moline, IL this Saturday, November 14^th.  The women’s 6K is at 11 am followed by the men’s 8K at Noon.
