EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire men's track & field member Thurgood Dennis (Jr.-Allouez, Wis./Green Bay Notre Dame) has been named this week's Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week for track, WIAC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek announced today.

Competing at the UW-Platteville Invitational on April 12, Dennis led the Blugolds as he won two events.  He took first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.28, breaking his old school record of 10.30 seconds, set on April 13, 2013 in Platteville.  He also won the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.13.  His 100 time was the top time in the nation so far this year, while his 200 time was the second best in the nation. Dennis also anchored the Blugolds' 4x400-meter relay team that took third place with a time of 3:20.28.
