The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Men's hockey team looked to bounce back after receiving their first loss of the season on Friday. Despite yet another slow start, the Blugolds would rattle off three in the third period to top Lawrence University, 4-0.

Box Score

The Blugolds would waste no time attempting to forget the woes of the previous night as Logan Von Ruden (Jr. – Northfield, MN) would bury a rebound out front to give Eau Claire the first tally of the game.

Both sides would see a scoreless 2nd period and a slower tempo with a lot less physicality. Only six of the 31 penalty minutes would be served in the middle frame. Neither team would convert on special teams throughout the 60 minutes of play.

In the final period, Eau Claire would come out guns blazing. Lucas Kohls (Sr. – Forest Lake, MN) and Braden Brown (So. – Plano, TX/South Lyon) would score back-to-back goals to extend the lead to 3-0 within the first five minutes. Kohls would finish the game with the one goal and two assists and Simon Sagissor (Fr. – Stillwater, MN) would cap the night off with the final goal and his first as a Blugold.

Zach Dyment (So. – Abbotsford, BC/Yale Secondary) would save all 18 shots he faced and would record his second shutout of the season.

The Blugolds improve to 8-1-0 and will be back on the road after Thanksgiving break as they travel to Finlandia University (Mich.) to take on the Lions in a back-to-back series on Friday and Saturday. Follow the action on Blugold Game Day or on the 'UWEC Blugolds' app on your mobile device.
