EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – While UW-Eau Claire student-athletes saw success on the field during the 2012-13 season, they also performed well academically and were recently recognized by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
The 22-sport Blugold Athletics program, which included 516 individuals in 2012-13, achieved a 3.124 department GPA. It was the 12th year in a row the department reached a 3.00 or better GPA.
A total of 321 Blugold student-athletes were named to the 2012-13 WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. Student-athletes with a 3.0 grade point average or better (on a 4.0 scale) were recognized. Individuals named to the Scholastic Honor Roll received a certificate.

During the 2012-13 academic year, nearly 50 percent of the 5,000 student-athletes competing in the WIAC achieved a 3.0 grade point average or better (on a 4.0 scale) and were named to the Scholastic Honor Roll.
Athletically, the Blugolds finished 14th in the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup out of more than 430 Division III institutions. The award measures success of athletic programs on a national level. UW-Eau Claire was also second in the WIAC All-Sports competition, combining both the men’s and women’s finishes in conference play.
