Blugold Women Win Luther Saga Cup

DECORAH, Iowa (Blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's cross country team competed in the Luther Saga Cup on Friday. The Blugolds took first place in their victory over Wartburg, Grinnell, Luther, and UW-Stout.

The UW-Eau Claire women raced in wet and muddy conditions at Luther's cross country course held on their campus. The Blugolds scored 25 points total in their first place finish; edging out Wartburg with 36 points.  

Julia Karls (Sr. - St. Cloud, Minn./Apollo) led the way for UW-Eau Claire with a third place finish in 23:50.81. Coming in next for the Blugolds was Autumn Canavera (So. - Oconto Falls, Wis.) in fourth place with a time of 23:59.03.  

Also scoring for the Blugolds in the team's top five were Allison Weissinger (So. - River Falls, Wis.) in fifth with a 24:02.77, Jenna Trzebiatowski (Jr. - Rosholt, Wis.) in sixth with a 24:18.55, and Kirsten Ranke (Sr. - Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) in seventh with a 24:21.87.  

The Blugolds will be back in action at the NCAA North Regional meet at St. Olaf in Northfield, Minn., on November 12 at 11 a.m.
