EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's cross country team competed in the annual City Wells 5K on Friday. The Blugolds took second place behind Viterbo in the dual meet.
Allison Weissinger (So. - River Falls, Wis.) led the Blugolds with a fourth place finish in a time of 19:55. Coming in sixth overall was Kirsten Ranke (Sr. - Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) in 20:02.
Rounding out UW-Eau Claire's scoring top five were Autumn Canavera (So. - Oconto Falls, Wis.) in seventh with a 20:02, Anna Schueth (Sr. - Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) in eighth with a 20:12, and Marika Kisgen (So. - Des Moines, Iowa/Ankeny High School) in ninth with a 20:12.
The Blugolds will be back in action at the WIAC Championships hosted by UW- La Crosse in West Salem, Wis., on October 29 at 12:00 p.m.
