COLFAX, Wis, (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin Eau Claire women's cross country team raced on home territory at the Whitetail Golf Course for the UWEC Blugold invitational on Friday, September 30th. The team placed 3rd out of 28 teams, earning 78 points.
The ladies who placed in the top 20 for the 6K race include 2nd place finisher, Carolyn Shult (Sr. - Augusta, WI), with a time of 22:23, 13th place finisher Naomi Long (Sr. - Medina, MN/Wayzata), with a time of 22:50, and lastly Ashley Kachirik (Sr. - Wadsworth IL/ Warren Township). Rounding out the top 5 for the Blugolds was Keeley Behr (Fr. - Aurora, IL/Metea Valley) and Katie Faris (Sr.-Chippewa Falls, WI).
It was a great race for the Blugold cross country women to start the year. The women's next race will be the Augusta Invitational in Rock Island, IL on Saturday, October 15th.
