Blugold Women Compete at UWSP Triangular

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's track team competed in the UW-Stevens Point Triangular Saturday, with the Blugolds claiming victory in multiple events.

In the 60 meter dash, the Blugolds took the top four spots. Carly Fehler finished first, clocking in at 7.91 seconds. Kelsey Woracheck was second at 8.04, Lindsey Laufenberg was third at 8.16 and Kayla Kelsey finished fourth with a time of 8.18.

Fehler earned her second win in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.93, while Laufenberg was third (26.69) and Kelsey was fifth (27.05).

The Blugolds took the top two spots in the 400, with Jessie Reineck finishing with a time of 1:00.22 and Jess Rupnow with a time of 1:01.21. Brooke Patterson was fourth with a time of 1:01.84.

The mile run was dominated by Eau Claire as they claimed the top 10 spots. Lucy Ramquist took the top spot, finishing with a time of 5:18.00. Katryna Williams and Erika Owens were the next finishers, clocking in at 5:27.03 and 5:27.96, respectively.

Monica Emerson was the top Blugold in the 3000 meter run, taking second with a time of 10:42.46 while Kim Drewiske was second in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.52.

The 4 x 400 relay team of Leah Engebretson, Sara Halfrich, Kiana Veal and Katrina Von Arx took third with a time of 4:22.14.

Samantha Madrzak was third in the pole vault with a vault of 10-06.00 while Kara Metzger was fourth at the same height.

Evelyn Theisen took top honors in the long jump, recording a jump of 15-11.75.

In the triple jump, Veal was third and Miranda Jessie was fourth with distances of 32-11.75 and 32-09.75, respectively.

Sam Anderson was second and JoHanna Theisen was fourth in the shot put, recording throws of 41-06.00 and 38-03.25. Anderson also won the weight throw with a distance of 52-10.00.

The Blugolds will travel to Menomonie next Saturday to compete in the Warren Bowlus Open.
