Fehler Advances at NCAA Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Blugolds.com) – Carly Fehler (Sr.-Oak Creek, WI) advanced to the finals of both the 60 and 200-meter dashes, doing so in record fashion, as the UW-Eau Claire women's track and field team wrapped up day one of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Roanoke College at JDL Fast Track.

Fehler finished second in both the 60 and 200-meter preliminary dashes to qualify for the finals in both events.  Fehler ran the 60-meter dash in 7.60 seconds flying past her own school record of 7.69 seconds set last weekend.  In the 200 Fehler completed the race in 24.79 seconds breaking her own record of 24.99 seconds set at the WIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on February 28, 2015 at UW-Platteville.

Lucy Ramquist (Sr.-River Falls, WI) finished 8th in the 5,000-meter run tying her best time of the season at 17:21.98.  Ramquist ran the same time at the St. Thomas Invitational on February 13.

Sarah Glidden (So.-Greenville, WI/Hortonville) finished 16th in the Pentathlon earning 3,097 points.  Glidden finished 9th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.30 seconds, tied for 9th in the high jump with a height of 5-1 feet (1.55 meters), 11th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:30.91, 14th in the long jump with a leap of 15-7 feet (4.75 meters) and 17th in the shot put with a throw of 26-1.75 feet (7.97 meters).

Fehler will compete in the finals in both the 60 and 200-meter dashes while Glidden will compete in the high jump along with the 4 x 400-meter relay team of Brooke Patterson (Sr.-Sussex, WI/Sussex-Hamilton), Steph Rouse (Sr.-Minnetonka, MN/Hopkins), Jessica Rupnow (Jr.-Sussex, WI/Sussex-Hamilton) and Jessie Reineck (So.-Greenville, WI/Fox Valley Lutheran)

The final day of competition of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships will take place tomorrow starting at 10:00 a.m.
