ST. PETER, Minn. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team participated in the 2022 ITA Regional tournament this past weekend. Clare Palen (Jr. -Rochester, MN) and Samantha Fuchs (So.-DeForest, WI) led the way for the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds, placing second in the ITA Doubles tournament.
Fuchs and Palen made their way through the Bracket as the number two seeded duo. To get to the final round the pair defeated the #12 ranked Perrin/Jarvis from Grinnell.
In the finals the Blugolds fell to the #1 ranked pair in the tournament Asfaw and Nechiporuk of Carleton (2-6, 6-7). Fuchs and Palen earned a spot at the ITA National Tournament that will take place in Rome, Georgia October 13-16th.
The team will travel to Winona State for their next competition on Friday, Septmeber 30th.
