Men's Indoor Track & Field Second at Stevens Point Triangular

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's indoor track & field finished in second place at the UW-Stevens Point Triangular today.

The Blugolds came in with 103 points while UW-Platteville won with 113. UW-Stevens Point was third with 76. Carthage College also had a few competitors at the meet and scored 16 points.

Five Blugolds found their ways to victories tonight.

In the weight throw, Tony Sigrist (Sr.-Byron, Minn.) won with a distance of 64-07.25, more than five feet in front of the second-place finisher, who was Blugold Tyler Genovese (Sr.-Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH).

Also in the field, Joe Lilek (Sr.-Tomahawk, Wis.) claimed the top spot in the shot put with a mark of 51-05.75.

On the track, Aaron Easker (Jr.-Eland, Wis./Wittenberg-Birnamwood) came away with a win in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:43.48.

Cody Prince (Fr.-Appleton, Wis./North) was first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.75 and Thurgood Dennis (Fr.-Allouez, Wis./Green Bay Notre Dame) took first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.40.

Next Saturday, the Blugolds will be at the Warren Bowlus Open, hosted by UW-Stout. Action will get underway at noon.
