Nick Hoven enters his first year as UW-Eau Claire's Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations and Sports Information.

Nick, a 2020 UW-Eau Claire alum, steps into the role after serving as the Assistant Sports Information for UW-Eau Claire since 2020.

During his time at UW-Eau Claire, Hoven has worked with all 25 sports and has covered three NCAA Division National Championships and hosted multiple NCAA Regional events. In his new role, he will oversee all the department’s marketing and media relations and maintain the department’s website. In addition, Hoven will also oversee all video streaming of Blugold home events and in-game statistics.

Hoven worked as a student worker for Blugold Athletics for five years (2015-20). He oversaw live stats for multiple home competitions, produced various creative content for social media and print use, provided play-by-play commentary for both Men’s and Women’s hockey teams on live streams, radio, and local television. During his time as a student worker, Hoven was given the responsibility of social media manager of the UW-Eau Claire Men's Ice Hockey team where he provided personalized player profiles, athlete specific videos, and creative content during gamedays. 

The Winona, MN native graduated from UW-Eau Claire in the Spring of 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication and a minor in the Science of Coaching.
