Shawn McMahon begins his 10th year as horizontal jumps coach for the Blugolds and his 18th as coach at the NCAA Division III level. McMahon is a middle school special education teacher and lives in Eau Claire with his wife, Ali, and their son, Charlie, who was born in March of 2022. A former head coach at Saint Mary's University and assistant at UW-Stout, McMahon has been part of the coaching staff for all five UWEC Men's National Championship Teams. 

As assistant coach to both the men's and women's programs, McMahon's long and triple jumpers at UWEC have qualified for twelve national championship meets with four of them winning All-American Honors. Many of McMahon's jumpers appear in the top five of the program's all-time performance lists including holding 5 of the 8 school records in the horizontal jumps. 

McMahon received his bachelor's degree in biology from UW-La Crosse where he was an all-conference performer in the long and triple jump and member of the 1997 indoor and outdoor national championship teams. He received his master's degree in 2004 from Saint Mary's University and completed his special education licensure through UW-Eau Claire in 2014.
