Ken Cychosz enters his second years as the head coach for the women's tennis team in 2023-24 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
After serving as an assitant coach to both the women's and men's teams in 2021, Cychosz will focus his coaching knowledge and skills as the 12th head coach in program history.
In 2021-22, the women's tennis team took 2nd in the WIAC Championship and had their top doubles pairing, Lindsey Henderson and Elaine Franta, take second at the ITA Midwest Regionals in September 2021.
During his four years at St Thomas (2 years as head coach), Ken led the women to a 57-18 overall record. The 2020-21 team accumulated 14 straight victories, won the MIAC Title, and advanced to the round of 16 of the NCAA Division 3 tournament. They were ranked in the top 5 in the Central Region and ended up finishing 9th in Division 3. In addition, two members of the team achieved all-American status. The men's team accumulated a record of 17-10 during the last two years and were ranked 16 in the Central region (3rd in MIAC). Between the two teams 13 members achieved all conference status in 2020-21.
Ken is in the Blugold Hall of Fame for his work from 1979-82. He won the conference championship in 1982 at number one singles and twice advanced to the 4th round in the NAIA National tournament. During his stint, Blugold teams won 7 straight WIAC titles and 47 straight conference matches.
He is a long-time tennis enthusiast; Ken has received more than 40 Northern Section Number one rankings and several national team titles. His best individual finish was the round of 16 at the United States National Grass Courts in 2001
He is married to Pam with two children Sam and Jackie.
