
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team went 2-0 on Saturday, sweeping Northwestern (9-0) and defeating Lake Forest (8-1).

The Blugolds won all but one match in singles play and were undefeated in doubles action. At number one singles, Kyle Hoffmann (Jr. Franklin, Wis.) defeated CJ Lloyd of Northwestern 6-0, 6-0 but was defeated by Lake Forest's Dan Pivonka 6-4, 3-6, 10-8.
In number two doubles, Michael Mauthe (Neenah, Wis.) defeated Brett Jacobus (UNW) and Ellis Lora-Arceo (LFC) with scores of 6-1, 6-0 and 5-7, 6-3, 10-3 respectively. At number three singles, Will Weyenberg (Neenah,Wis.) claimed wins over Landon Ridpath (UNW) 6-0, 6-0, and Dragan Trivanovic (LFC) 6-1, 6-1. Daniel Schoen (Brookfield, Wis.) at number four singles defeated Williams (UNW) 6-0, 6-0 and Fehn (LFC) 6-0, 6-1.
Bernardo Prado (Curitiba, Brazil) defeated Kimball (UNW) 6-4,6-2 and Stoler (LFC) 6-3,6-2, while Jacob Toffler (Minneapolis, Minn.) won both his matches over Fair (UNW) 6-0,6-0, and Rehm(LFC) 6-4,6-4.
The Blugolds went undefeated in doubles play with Kyle Hoffmann and Michael Mauthe leading the way defeating Lloyd/Jacobus (UNW) 8-3 and Pivonka/Lora-Arceo (LFC) 8-2 at number one doubles. Will Weyenberg and Jordon Stevens (Woodbury,Minn.) defeated Ridpath/Williams (UNW) and Fehn/Rehm (LFC) with scores of 8-0 and 8-4 respectively. Daniel Schoen and Jacob Toffler completed the doubles sweep with wins over Kimball/Fair (UNW) 8-0, and Trivanovic/Stoler (LFC) 8-6.
The Blugolds (5-1) are back in action tomorrow facing Bethel University at the Baseline Tennis Center.
