Women's Cross Country Hands Team Awards

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team handed out this year's team awards this past weekend at the annual team banquet.

Alana Jenkins (Sr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) was named the Most Valuable Runner. Jenkins competed in seven races this season and finished in 53rd place or better in all of them. At the NCAA Regional on Nov. 16, she took 52nd place to end the year while she finished 12th at the WIAC Championship.

Receiving Most Improved honors was Jamie Warner (Fr.-Waukesha, Wis./West). Competing in seven races this season, Warner took 61st place at the WIAC Championship and ended the season with a fifth-place finish at the Luther College JV Cup on Nov. 8.

Sydney Pretasky (Fr.-La Crosse, Wis./Central) was selected the team's Most Valuable Freshman. Pretasky competed in six events this year and had the team's second highest finish at the NCAA Regional as she came in 49th place. She also took 17th at the WIAC Championship on Nov. 2.

Earning the Blugold Award was Jami Riley (Sr.-Fairmont, Minn.). She competed seven times this season and took 33rd at the WIAC Championship and 193rd at the NCAA Regional.
