COLFAX, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Behind strong pack running, the UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team placed sixth out of 25 teams Friday at the Blugold Invitational at the Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax.
The Blugolds finished with 214 points overall. The University of Minnesota won the meet with 44 points.
Alana Jenkins (Sr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) led that Eau Claire pack by placing 42nd with a time of 23:27 over the span of 6,000-meters.
Jami Riley (Sr.-Fairmont, Minn.) and Nikki Rendler (Sr.-Lodi, Wis.) finished right next to one another in 47th and 48th-place, respectively. Riley ran to a time of 23:36 while Rendler crossed the line in a time of 23:38.
Katryna Williams (So.-Watertown, Wis.) was the last of the Blugolds to break the 24-minute barrier by placing 62nd in a time of 23:52.
After competing in meets for two weekends in a row, the Blugolds will get a weekend off before hitting the road to compete at the Brooks Invitational Oct. 19, hosted by UW-Oshkosh.
