Women's Cross Country Takes Eighth at Griak Invitational

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's cross country team finished in eighth place at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota at Les Bolstad Golf Course today.

Results

Wartburg College (Iowa) led the 29-team field by winning with 63 points. The Blugolds finished with 272 points.

Alana Jenkins (Sr.-Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) led the Blugolds on the 6,000-meter course, taking 30th place with a time of 24:13.7.

Eau Claire had two other runners in the top 50.

Nikki Rendler (Sr.-Lodi, Wis.) came in 35th with a time of 24:20.33 while Katryna Williams (So.-Watertown, Wis.) took 46th in 24:25.98.

Next up, the Blugolds will host their annual Blugold Invitational at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax. The women's race is set for 4 p.m. while the men's race begins at 5 p.m.
