Women's Indoor Track & Field Competes at Warren Bowlus Open

MENOMONIE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's indoor track & field team competed at UW-Stout's Warren Bowlus Open today.

Two Blugolds won events while a number of others finished in the top three.

In the weight throw, Brittany Frederick (Sr.-Green Bay, Wis./Preble) won with a distance of 54-4.75, more than a foot in front of the rest of the field and one of the best throws in the nation so far this season.

Jami Riley (So.-Fairmont, Minn.) won the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:09.57, finishing almost five seconds ahead of the rest of the group.

Blugolds also claimed second place in four other events.

Next weekend, the Blugolds will be at Stevens Point for the Pointer Invite. The two-day event gets underway Friday with the multi-events starting at 1 p.m.
