Women's Indoor Track & Field Wins UW-Stevens Point Triangular

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's indoor track & field took home first place at the UW-Stevens Point Triangular today.

The Blugolds came away with 130.5 points while UW-Stevens Point was second with 126. UW-Platteville finished in third with 61.5.

Five Blugolds finished with six event victories.

On the track, Talisa Emberts (Sr.-Sussex, Wis./Sussex-Hamilton) won the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.72 seconds while Jami Riley (So.-Fairmont, Minn.) was first in the 800-meter run with a mark of 2:22.89.

Lucy Ramquist (Fr.-River Falls, Wis.) was the top finisher in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:39.66 as the Blugolds swept the top four spots.

In field events, Julia Baranek (Sr.-Port Washington, Wis.) was first in the high jump with a leap of 5-05.75 while also winning the long jump with a distance of 16-01.75.

In the shot put, Brittany Frederick (Sr.-Green Bay, Wis./Preble) won with a toss of 39-11.25, more than two feet ahead of the second-place finisher.

Next Saturday, the Blugolds will be at the Warren Bowlus Open, hosted by UW-Stout. Action will get underway at noon.
