MESA, AZ (Blugolds.com)- The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Women's tennis fell to Mesa Community College 9-0.
Sarah Henderson (So. Prior Lake, Minn.) lost at No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-1. At No. 2 singles Olivia Gallagher (Jr. Lodi, Wis.) was defeated by Khanh 6-2, 6-1. Colleen McCullough (Sr.-Maple Grove, Minn.) lost her match at No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-2. No. 4 singles saw Paige Kuepers (Sr. Green Bay, Wis.) be defeated by Nelson. Brooke Volpone (So. Monticello, Minn.) dropped her match at No. 5 singles 6-1,6-0 and Kendra Berry (Fr. Duluth, Minn.) lost 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
The Blugolds did not have much luck in doubles play either as the team of Henderson/McCullough lost at No. 1 doubles 8-5. At No. 2 doubles Gallagher/Kuepers were defeated by Carlon/Gurduno 9-8 and Brooke Volpone and Molly Sanvik (Fr. Winona, Minn.) lost at No. 3 doubles 8-0.
The Blugolds look to get back on track tomorrow and head home with two more wins as they take on Pima Community College and Arizona Christian.
