Three Blugolds Recognized on NSCAA Scholar All-Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Blugolds.com) – Three UW-Eau Claire women's soccer players have been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) by being named to the Scholar All-North/Central Region team.

Paige LeGate (Sr.-Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port), Kara Ryan (Sr.-Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) and Allie Stone (Sr.-Madison, Wis./Verona Area) were all honorably mentioned on the Scholar All-Region Team.

LeGate holds a 3.81 GPA with a healthcare administration major. A forward, LeGate was third on the team with eight points coming from one goal and six assists this season. It was the second year in a row LeGate was honorably mentioned on the NSCAA Scholar All-Region team.

Ryan, an accounting major, has a 3.71 GPA. A defender, Ryan was part of a Blugold defense that gave up 196 shots and 64 goals while the Blugolds recorded 289 shots and 90 goals. The Blugolds also defended against 114 corner kicks this season. Ryan finished the season scoring three goals.

Stone is a kinesiology major with a 3.90 GPA. A midfielder, Stone finished the year with seven points coming from two goals and three assists. She was second on the team with two game-winning goals, tied for fifth in the conference. Last season Stone was also honorably mentioned on the NSCAA Scholar All-Region team.
