Blugold Soccer Playing for a Cause September 25

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team will be playing for a cause when it hosts Bethel University (Minn.) at 4 p.m. on Sept. 25 at Bollinger Field.

For the third year in a row, the Blugolds will be raising awareness for a particular cause. This year the team will be raising funds and building awareness for the American Childhood Cancer Organization, which helps benefit the nation's youngest cancer patients, as part of the organization's Go Gold campaign.

The Blugolds will auction off game jerseys during the game through a silent auction to help raise funds, and donations will also be accepted throughout the game. Fans are encouraged to wear a gold ribbon to the game.

Four blankets that were made by the team will also be presented at halftime to an individual affected by childhood cancer.
