EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's gymnastics team held their first home meet Friday night, taking second with a score of 181.475.
UW-La Crosse to the top spot with a score of 185.000 while Gustavus Adolphus came in third with a score of 172.650.
Tori Erickson (Fr.-Woodbury, MN) was fourth all-around, leading the Blugolds with an overall score of 34.425. Erickson tallied scores of 9.050 on the vault, 8.325 on the uneven parallel bars, 8.300 on the balance beam and 8.750 on the floor exercise.
UW-Eau Claire earned first place finishes in three of the four events. On the vault, Dez Stanton (So.-Hutchinson, MN) recorded a 9.450 for the win while teammate Julia Stedman (Jr.-Maplewood, MN) came in third with a 9.400.
Elizabeth Stubbs (Jr.-Wayzata, MN) nailed her routine on the balance beam, scoring a 9.700 for the top spot. Erin Olson (So.-Fairbault, MN) tallied a 9.525 to take third.
Stubbs scored a 9.6 for top honors on the floor exercise for her second victory of the night, while Stedman and Olson took third and fourth, scoring a 9.500 and 9.450, respectively.
The Blugolds will travel to Oshkosh next Friday to take on the Titans at 6:30 p.m.
