Gymnastics Falls to Winona State

WINONA, Minn. (blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team fell to Winona State Friday night, 182.875 to 181.925.

Erin Olson (So.-Faribault, MN) led the Blugolds with a win on the balance beam, earning a top score of 9.125. Teammates Tori Erickson (Woodbury, MN) and Elizabeth Stubbs (Jr.-Wayzata, MN) tied Winona's Cassidy Kleven for second place in the event with an 8.975.

Olson also took second on the floor exercise, recording a score of 9.575. Dez Stanton (So.-Hutchinson, MN) took fourth with a score of 9.400.

Julia Stedmen (Jr.-Maplewood, MN) and Stanton tied for fourth on the vault with scores of 9.150 while Kellie Doughterty (Jr.-White Bear Lake, MN) and Lauren Zurowski (Fr.-Greenfield, WI) finished fourth and fifth in the uneven parallel bars, tallying a 9.350 and 9.275, respectively.

Erickson tied Winona's Jade Donaldson with an All-Around score of 36.200.

The Blugolds will travel to Whitewater next Saturday to take on the Warhawks. The meet will begin at 4 p.m.
