Gymnastics Falls to Whitewater

WHITEWATER, Wis. (Blugolds.com)—The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team fell 183.950-189.600 to the Warhawks of UW-Whitewater Saturday night in Whitewater.

Elizabeth Stubbs (Jr.-Wayzata, MN) played a key role for the Blugolds leading the team with overall wins on both the balance beam and floor exercise where she finished with scores of 9.575 and 9.650 respectively. Stubbs tied her career high score on the balance beam tonight after setting the mark on January 18, 2014 against Univ. of Illinois & Centenary.

Julia Stedman (Jr.-Maplewood, MN./North St. Paul) finished second in the floor exercise with a score of 9.600. Desirae Stanton (So.-Hutchinson, MN./Waconia) also had a career high night, setting two new personal records. Stanton finished with a 9.550 on the vault beating her previous score of 9.400 and a 9.475 on the floor exercise which tops her previous score high of 9.400.

The Blugolds have yet to find a team win this season but are hopeful with six meets left on their schedule. UW-Eau Claire will headed to Centenary, LA on February 6 with first events starting at 6:00 p.m.
