MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire men's outdoor track & field member Brandon Zarnoth (So.-Appleton, Wis./North) has been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week for his performance in the decathlon, WIAC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek announced today.

Zarnoth, who finished eighth in the heptathlon at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship, appears to have punched his ticket to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship by finishing first in the decathlon with a total of 6,398 points at the Phil Esten Challenge on April 21.  His mark puts him on top of the NCAA Division III performance list.  As a team, the Blugolds finished third at the meet in La Crosse.
