Men's Swimming and Diving Opens Season at Home

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – In their first meet of the season, the UW-Eau Claire men's swimming and diving team hosted UW-Stevens Point and NCAA Division II St. Cloud State here today at the McPhee Physical Education Center.

St. Cloud defeated UW-Eau Claire 249-50 and UW-Stevens Point 217-83. Stevens Point beat Eau Claire 230-69.

Ryan Young (So.-Lakeville, MN/North) earned five of the Blugolds' eight points on the day.  Young finished third in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:04.78 while placing fourth in the 200 Butterfly clocking in at 2:02.95.

Dayton Miller (Fr.-Rochester, MN/Schaefer Academy) finished fourth in the 200 Breaststroke completing the race in 2:21.42 and placing fifth in the 100 Breaststroke in a time of 1:03.67.

The Blugolds will travel to St. Peter, Minnesota for a dual meet against Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday, November 1.  Action is set for a 1 p.m. start.
