Men's Hockey Announces Team Awards For 2021 Season

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's hockey team has announced their team awards for the 2021 season.

The Jeff Jaraczewski Award was given out to two individuals this year. Jon Richards (Sr. – Callaway, MN/Detroit Lakes) and Zach Dyment (Sr. – Abbotsford, BC/Yale Secondary) were voted by their teammates as the most valuable players of the season. Richards led the team in goals (5), tied for second for total points (6), and gathered two game-winning goals in just eight games played. Dyment was solid in net during the seven games he played for the Blugolds. With 122 saves and only 14 goals allowed, Dyment helped Eau Claire solidify a first round bye as the 2nd seed in the Commissioner's Cup Tournament.

Connor Koviak (Jr. – Canton, MI/Plymouth) was awarded the Richard G. O'Brien Award and named the most dedicated player on and off the ice by his teammates. Koviak finished the shortened season with one goal, one assist, and went 46% in the faceoff circle.

Willy Stauber (Fr. – Duluth, MN/Marshall) was awarded the Wallace G. Akervik Award for being the top freshman on the year. With three blocked shots, a +2 overall, and only six penalty minutes on the year, Stauber made his transition to the Blugold defensive core seamlessly.
