WIAC Announces Men's Ice Hockey Award Winners

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) office announced the 2021 All-WIAC men's hockey awards on Wednesday, with four Blugold athletes receiving honors.

Adam Parsells (Sr. - Wausau, WI/West) was awarded All-WIAC first team after a consistent year on the blue line. With seven points (2G, 5A) in just eight games, he was only penalized one time all year. Parsells has been awarded as a first team winner two other times (2018, 2020) and earned All-WIAC honorable mention in 2019.

Jon Richards (Sr. - Callway, MN/Detroit Lakes) was also named as a All-WIAC first team winner. Richards led the team in goals (5) and was a +8 on the season. This is his second All-WIAC award, after earning All-WIAC honorable mention last year (2020).

Charles Weiand (Jr. - Rosemount, MN) earned All-WIAC honorable mention for his first conference award of his career. The Blugold captain was another pivotal piece on the blue line with a +7 and only four penalty minutes on the season. Weiand also captured a goal and three assists during his six games played.

Kasey Fitzjerrells (Jr. - Dubuque, IA) was also named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
