Jahnke leads Blugolds at Illinois Wesleyan Invite

NORMAL, Ill. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team finished in a tie for eighth place at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, with Cole Jahnke (Fr.- Stillwater, MN) leading the way, tying for 17th overall.

Results

The Blugolds, ranked No. 25 in the latest Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll, shot a team score of 297 on Saturday, improving on Friday's 306 and giving them a two-round score of 603, moving them up from 10th to a tie for eighth place.

Jahnke shot a 70 on Saturday to bring his two-round total to 148 while Nick Bauer (Sr.- Oshkosh, WI/North) and Brady Thomas (Jr. – Middleton, WI) following with a score of 150 to tie for 28th.

Alex Rogan (Jr. – Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) tied for 66th with a 155 and Jake Reckin's (So. – Bellevue, NE) 164 placed him in a tie for 108th.

Illinois Wesleyan won the invite with a two-round team score of 572 and had the top individual, with Drew Pershing recording a 139.
