Fall Camps Open for Blugold Prospects

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Fall camp has begun for one UW-Eau Claire athletics team and will open for two others this weekend.

Players reported for the start of Blugold football camp last Saturday under the direction of sixth-year head coach Todd Glaser. The Blugolds have three weeks to prepare for their non-conference season opener September 3 against Bethel University in Tennessee.

She is anticipating nine returners from last year’s conference co-championship team and NCAA playoff team along with 14 new freshmen, one transfer and two returning students who have not played before. The Blugolds are gearing up for their annual Labor Day Classic September 2-3.

Veteran soccer coach Sean Yengo, leading his 15th Blugold team, will also begin pre-season camp this weekend, anticipating 37 prospects including 21 returners, 13 freshmen, one sophomore who hasn’t played previously and two transfers. The Blugolds will play their first two games in Wheaton, Illinois, September 2-3.
