NORTHFIELD, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – While the UW-Eau Claire wrestling team had some close matches, Mat Rieckhoff (So.-Wausau, Wis./D.C. Everest) was the only Blugold to come away with a win as the team lost 40-3 to St. Olaf College (Minn.) tonight.

At 184 pounds, Rieckhoff picked up a 4-2 victory over Joe Pesta to give the Blugolds three points.

The Blugolds also had close matches in the 149 pound weight class, at 165 and at 197, losing by three points or less in each.

Eau Claire drops to 1-7 in dual meets this season while St. Olaf improves to 3-1.

Next up, the Blugolds will be at Itasca Community College in Grand Rapids, Minn. on Saturday. Action will get underway at 6 p.m.
