EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's gymnastics team finished in second place out of three teams, competing on Senior and Parents' Night in the Blugolds' home finale tonight.
Winona State University (Minn.) narrowly won with a score of 181.825 while Eau Claire took second with a score of 181.775. UW-Oshkosh finished in third place with 179.950 points.
Elizabeth Stubbs (So.-Wayzata, Minn.) had the Blugolds' top finish of the night as she won the floor exercise with a score of 9.500.
On the vault, Julia Stedman (So.-Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul) had Eau Claire's best result as she took second place with a score of 9.375.
Michaela McCamey-Metropulos (Sr.-Dayton, Ohio) took third on the balance beam with a score of 9.400 to lead the Blugolds while she also tied with Karla Hagen (Sr.-Chaseburg, Wis./Viroqua) on the uneven bars with a score of 9.100 to share fourth place.
The Blugolds will wrap up the regular season next Friday at UW-La Crosse for a meet beginning at 6:30 p.m.
