Wagner Leads Women's Golf at Carleton Invite

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – Led by Catherine Wagner (Sr.-Austin, Minn.), the UW-Eau Claire women's golf team finished in second place out of nine teams after two days of the Carleton College Invitational at Northfield Golf Club.

Wagner, who was in second place after day one after shooting 75, completed 18 holes today with 77 strokes for a total of 152 (+8) to earn medalist honors. She edged St. Olaf College's Molly Erickson, who finished with 153. A total of 47 golfers competed in this year's event.

As a team, the Blugolds recorded 658 strokes while St. Olaf won the tournament with 645.

Two other Blugolds finished in the top 10.

Kate Engler (So.-Beloit, Wis./F.J. Turner) tied for fourth with 159 strokes and Emily Stone (So.-Eden Prairie, Minn.) finished with 166 strokes to take 10th.

Eau Claire will wrap up the regular season at home next weekend with the Blugold Spring Invitational. Round one will be contested Saturday and the tournament will conclude Sunday. Both days will be at Wild Ridge Golf Course in Eau Claire.
