MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – UW-Eau Claire men's outdoor track member Thurgood Dennis (Fr.-Allouez, Wis./Green Bay Notre Dame) has been selected as a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week, Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek announced today.

Competing in three events this weekend at the UW-Platteville Invitational, where the Blugolds took fourth place out of 11 teams, Dennis won one event while taking second and third in two others. He took the top spot in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.67 seconds and was second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.70, three-hundredths of a second behind the first place finisher. Dennis was also part of the 4x100-meter relay team that took third with a time of 42.15 seconds.
