EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com)— The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's tennis team hosted a dual meet with UW-Stevens Point and the College of Saint Scholastica. The Blugolds went 2-0 on the day defeating UW-Stevens Point 7-2 and St. Scholastica 9-0.
To start the day the Blugolds took down the pointers 7-2. Otto Schluter (So.-Henfield, England) took the victory in 3 singles 6-1, 6-2. Ethan Wurtzel (Jr.-Menomonie, WI), Ryan Fonseca (Jr.-Andover, MN), and Mike McGuire (So.-Fon du Lac, WI) all secured wins in their singles matches. Eau Claire took a clean sweep in doubles with Colin Chapman (So.-Green Bay, WI) and RJ Griffiths (Jr.-Rogers, MN) winning one doubles 8-6.
In the second match up of the night the Blugolds swept St. Scholastica 9-0. In the ones singles spot, Demetri Bush (Sr.-Edina, MN) won 7-5, 7-5. Hunter Roseth (Sr.-Lakeville, MN) secured the win in two singles 6-1, 6-2. The Blugolds found success in doubles tonight with Kole Kolinski (Sr.-Kewaunee, WI) and Roseth in one doubles winning 8-2.
